GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at Hillcrest a great one!

SERVICE TIMES

Hillcrest is holding in-person church services on Sundays at 10:30 AM. Services are also streamed here on our site.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

Hillcrest is located at 476 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB. Our building is wheelchair accessible. There is an exterior wheelchair ramp at our main entrance for Sunday mornings and other services. During the week, there is an accessible door available near the back of the building which requires you to ring the doorbell.

Reserved parking is available near both accessible entrances.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I ARRIVE?

We have ample parking available.

Our main entrance is closest to the (very tall) Church tower. Our building is wheelchair accessible. There is an exterior wheelchair ramp at our main entrance for Sunday mornings and other services. During the week, there is an accessible door available near the back of the building which requires you to ring the doorbell.

Reserved parking is available near both accessible entrances.

Services begin with our band leading the church in music. Song lyrics will be projected so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable, but don't be nervous if you don't know the words! After the opening music, we will share some announcements, which is followed by a message from our Pastor that is based on the Bible. We will end the service by praying to God and singing another song.

WHAT'S THE CULTURE LIKE?

Sundays at Hillcrest are friendly, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest. In general, dressing modestly is appreciated, but people wear a range of clothing from jeans, shorts, hats, t-shirts, and suits.

WILL I HAVE TO GIVE MONEY?

Giving to the work of the Church is only intended for members or regular attenders. If you are visiting Hillcrest there is absolutely no obligation for you to give (We don't even pass a collection plate)! If you feel God is leading you to donate to Hillcrest, you can do via E-transfer to give@hillcrestsj.ca

or at the giving station by the back of the sanctuary.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

We believe that children should feel safe, loved, and have fun learning about God and His great love for them. We also believe that parents should have options and be able to choose where they want their child on Sunday. So you have a couple options:

Keep the Fam together (January - December): If you want to keep your child with you during the service (which is TOTALLY ok!) we have an activity pack filled with crafts, colouring, and other cool stuff that your child can enjoy! We even have family tables set up in the sanctuary for you, just ask an usher to hook you up! And if you have a infant or toddler that might have separation anxiety or you might just want to keep with you for whatever reason, we have a play-yard with toys that is set up every week especially for you! Oh, and don't worry if your kids are loud or messy, we honestly love it!

Check them in (September - June): For our Pre-K to Grade 6 kids we offer our weekly Sunday Children's Experience (no it is not Sunday School...it is more like ummm...an Experience!), it takes place downstairs in our newly renovated children's area, which is secured during our service and is staffed by volunteers that have been screened and passed their police and vulnerable sector check. Our Children's Experience includes a "soft start" time, skits, music, story, dance, games, and crafts! Just look for our kids "check-in" table in the main entrance. (Our volunteers are easily identifiable with name tags and lanyards). We also have an infant and toddler nursery available all year.
